I came into the shop looking for a jacket/bolero type of thing to go with a dress I had bought for my son's wedding. The lady assistant was really helpful and suggested jackets I wouldn't have thought of trying on, one of which I eventually bought.
What's more, she brought out a pair of shoes she thought would go with the outfit, which helped me decide on the colour of the shoes I wanted, and suggested I try on hats and fascinators they had in stock. I wasn't planning on buying any headgear until later on, but in their selection of fascinators I found something that went with my wedding outfit - I couldn't believe how easy and pleasurable it was!
This all goes to show that small local businesses give better service - I can't imagine getting anything like this attention and know-how in chain fashion stores.
